Europe Giant-Young: The Power of German Imperialism Will Not Be Enough for Grup Yorum
There was going to be a solidarity concert with artists from abroad to announce the hunger strike resistance of Grup Yorum on November 24, 2019. However, on the same day, it was announced that the event was banned by the German imperialism with the decision of the prosecutor’s office.
People who were preparing for the hall were not taken out of the hall without an identity check. At the same time, the crowd that was growing outside were not allowed in by the police standing in front of the hall. Even a little girl’s need for the toilet was not allowed, seeming objectionable. Police teams began to multiply and there were almost more police than the mass, inside and outside the hall. German imperialism or Turkish Fascism either takes as an example or cooperates with them. Especially when the decision was announced to us on the day of the concert, they tried to ensure that we did not take any precautions. These prohibitions are completely arbitrary. We do not recognize these prohibitions and we did not recognize them on November 24. Grup Yorum has faced many concert bans throughout its history, but if we look at history again, it never recognized these bans and concerts were held in all kinds of ways. His concerts always took place both in slums and on rooftops. It is the group of Grup Yorum, that is, our people who provide these opportunities. On November 24, this kind of concert had to take place for the first time in Europe. We held the concert in front of the Hall, in the middle of the street, saying we do not recognize these prohibitions. Artists sang Grup Yorum songs, speeches were made, and we danced our aunt with enthusiasm. No ban can prevent Grup Yorum’s concert. As European Dev-Genç, we call out to German imperialism: The art of the people, Grup Yorum can neither silence Turkey’s fascism with its open murderous attacks, nor can you forbid insidious arbitrariness! Grup Yorum is not a musical group consisting of 5-10 members. There are hundreds of thousands, millions of people behind them. We remind you that Grup Yorum has brought people of all races, religions and languages together and performed in stadiums in front of 1 million people. Why are you so afraid of Grup Yorum’s songs? Why are you so hesitant to tell us about Grup Yorum’s honorable hunger strike resistance? Neither your bans nor your pressures Grup Yorum It can silence comment. Grup Yorum concerts and songs will continue. We will never stop singing those songs and pulling our halay shoulder to shoulder! We want Justice for Grup Yorum, and therefore we will continue to tell everyone about their honorable resistance.
